Community: A Basic Human Need
Our need for community has always been a core part of our existence. Our ancestors com from villages fueled by inherent connection and support. Feelings of connection and belonging help increase life satisfaction as well as resilience in the face of adversity.
Loss of Our “Village” Mentality’
Unfortunately, the pandemic, the rise of social media, and increased individualism have weakened these bonds, leaving many of us feeling disconnected and experiencing a “loneliness epidemic.” This loss of connection has eroded our inter-relational skills and leaves many of us longing for a “village.”
A Call to Reconnect (With Intention)
The good news is that we can reclaim what has been lost! Reconnecting means intentionally creating opportunities for genuine connection. By seeking out shared interests, getting involved in a shared mission, and prioritizing intimacy over isolation, we can rebuild the sense of belonging we all crave.
